 Just a quick update - the latest movie is going really well, I played a bit with the coloring but I still like the rich sepia best so that's staying. 

Finding the right music is hard - anyone has a suggestion for a cello piece that's available under creative commons license? That would be ideal...

Full Moon Swoon (Modern Kama Sutra vol.1)

I have it bad again. Editing a new movie trying out a new technique rendering it first in one program and editing in another and it's taking a lot of time and quite a bit of effort. I worked on it this long weekend so much that I couldn't function beyond the survival instinct like food and sleep. The rest of the time was spent editing. I didn't go outside, didn't spend much time with the kids (having a head cold came in handy, too) and by the time I cut the final sequence of the first half of the new movie I felt like Rocky reaching the top of the stairs. A winner!

It consumes me. I breathe it. I love it. During the editing process we make love every day. Which is why dear husband doesn't mind picking up slack in the chores/kid department. It means he will get to enjoy the byproduct of this obsession. Sexplosion indeed.

At the start of this project I was overwhelmed and didn't know where to begin. Having gone halfway in 2 days I am much more excited and optimistic. This will be about an hour long movie so I have to make sure it's near perfect. As my history professor in college once said "the term paper must be 5 pages of pure gold". This is how I feel about this one. Stay tuned!

Morning Glory (Preludes) completed!

During the editing the images from the just finished Morning Glory with the second title Preludes were following me everywhere mentally. I was having a hard time concentrating at work and relentlessly was putting in 2-3 hrs each night for at least a week working on the movie. The more I cut and pasted, cropped and rearranged the more I kept thinking about making love. I couldn't quite put my finger on it why it was consuming me to this extent. I felt totally preoccupied and drawn to the project like I have never been drawn to anything. Maybe this is how you feel when you discover your calling, whatever it may be. In any case I also realized that seeing myself and Rick from the outside - what we looked like making love - added another layer to our relationship. I discovered million and one gestures we commit all the time and don't even realize. Our limbs merge and we become one organism with double arms and legs (interesting how the Indian theme continues to come up with this movie). Kama Sutra for the modern world indeed!

It was refreshing to see. I feel proud of this one. Truly.

Glorious thoughts

I'm in the midst of editing our new movie "Morning Glory" and wanted to share a few thoughts on why we do what we do. 

We think of our lovemaking as art. We think it should look like a work of art. There so much ugly porn out there. Time to change what society at large finds exciting and masturbates to. Time to inspire people to have beautiful sex and really enjoy it. It's not about being perfect. It's about making love and showing it to yourself, your partner - and for some of us - to the world. 

I have this vision in my head of how the future will be and hope more and more people will jump on this bandwagon and make fantastic stuff. I'm also pretty anal (pun totally intended) when it comes to standards and visuals, which is why I do take time to edit and "cinematify". The way I see it - we are making visual poetry with our bodies, like contemporary dance etc. Hope it comes across.
